Where does pocket Wi-Fi work in North America?

Rail, roads, and border crossings

Amtrak, VIA Rail, and drives over the Peace Bridge between Buffalo and Fort Erie or through San Ysidro generally hold a signal; tunnels and mountain passes can drop it briefly, and the signal can disappear for long empty stretches between towns.

Is there anything to set up when I land at Toronto Pearson, Vancouver, or Cancun?

Generally, yes. Amtrak and VIA Rail routes and the main highways tend to hold a signal where local carrier coverage is available. Nothing about the setup changes at the border. Can one rental cover the United States, Canada, and Mexico on the same trip?

Yes. The North America regional pass puts all three countries on one device at one daily rate. After each border, it picks up a local network where coverage is available. If the trip stays inside one country, book that country's own rental from the United States, Canada, or Mexico page instead.

Is the Wi-Fi in North America really unlimited?

Noomi never caps your data. We provide unlimited service on every trip. Local carriers, however, may temporarily reduce speeds during peak periods — that's their policy, not ours, and it varies by country, operator, time of day, and how busy their network is. We pick operators who apply Fair Use least, but we cannot guarantee zero throttling. When it does happen, you stay connected. There are no fixed GB bundles to buy or run out of.

Does a carrier-locked phone work with Noomi?

Yes. Your phone joins Noomi's Wi-Fi the way it joins a hotel network, so the carrier lock never comes into play. Nothing on the phone changes: no SIM tray to open, no eSIM profile, no settings to undo when you get home.

Can I connect a laptop and tablets too?

What if my trip dates change?
