Everyday use & basic help — no device login needed
Power button: turn on, turn off, and check the battery
One quick press = check the battery. Press and hold = turn Noomi on or off.
Use the physical power button on your Noomi. A quick press means press and release; a press-and-hold means keep the button down until the hotspot responds, then release.
| What you want to do | How to use the power button |
|---|---|
| Turn Noomi on | With Noomi off, press and hold for about 3 seconds, then release as the startup lights appear. Allow time for the network connection. |
| Turn Noomi off | With Noomi on, press and hold until the hotspot switches off, then release. A quick tap is not the shutdown command. |
| See the remaining battery | Press once and release. Read the battery-level lights. You do not need to log in or open any settings. |
| Start charging your phone | Connect the appropriate built-in cable to your phone, then press once to start phone charging. |
Checking the battery does not restart Noomi. To confirm a shutdown, check that your phone can no longer connect to Noomi's Wi-Fi after refreshing the network list. Battery-level lights show charge information; they are not proof that the hotspot's Wi-Fi is on.
Read the battery lights
After one quick press, count the four battery-level lights beside the battery symbol — not the separate signal or Wi-Fi indicator. Each light represents approximately one quarter of a full charge.
| Battery lights showing | Approximate charge remaining |
|---|---|
| 1 light | About 25% — recharge soon |
| 2 lights | About 50% |
| 3 lights | About 75% |
| 4 lights | About 100% / nearly full |
These are approximate charge levels, not exact percentages or a promise of remaining hours. Using Noomi to charge a phone also uses its battery.
No battery lights after a quick press? Connect Noomi to power using the included USB-C charging cable. Give it time to charge, then check again. Lights being dark before you press the button are not enough, by themselves, to diagnose an empty battery.
Get connected
Every Noomi hotspot rental has a Wi-Fi connection QR code on the back of the device. Scan it with your phone to join Wi-Fi without typing the network name (SSID) or password.
Connect your phone with the QR code
- Turn Noomi on: Press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds, then release as the startup lights appear. A quick press checks the battery rather than switching on Wi-Fi; see Power button: turn on, turn off, and check the battery above.
- Open your phone's camera or built-in QR scanner and scan the QR code on the back of your Noomi.
- Tap the Wi-Fi connection prompt and confirm that you want to join, if asked. Your phone connects using the Wi-Fi details in the QR code — no SSID or password to type.
No device login is needed. Do not open the hotspot's settings page unless Noomi support asks and guides you during troubleshooting.
Connect a laptop, tablet, or another device
Open that device's Wi-Fi settings. Select the Wi-Fi name (SSID) printed on the back of your Noomi, then enter the Wi-Fi password printed on that same back label.
Use this manual method for devices that cannot scan the QR code, or when scanning does not work. Always use the details on your own Noomi's back label, not a sample screenshot. Use the Wi-Fi password on that label; no administrator login is part of connecting to Wi-Fi.
Use Noomi within the destination and dates covered by your booking. At your destination, allow up to 7 minutes for the first network connection before starting troubleshooting. Avoid restarting repeatedly while it is connecting.
Seeing the Noomi Wi-Fi network is not the same as having internet access. Your phone connects to Noomi over Wi-Fi; Noomi must separately connect to a mobile network.
Cannot join the Wi-Fi network? Use the SSID and password on the back as the manual fallback, and check that Noomi is on and charged. If you still cannot connect, follow Connection help — basic checks first below and contact Noomi support. Do not try to solve it by opening device settings.
Charge the Noomi hotspot with the included USB-C cable
Your rental includes a separate USB-C charging cable to recharge Noomi itself. This is different from the built-in cables used to charge your phone.
Find the charging port
Use the USB-C charging port on the hotspot: the small, oval-shaped socket that accepts the USB-C plug on the included cable. The charging port is a socket in Noomi's casing — not one of the attached phone-charging cables.
Recharge Noomi
- Plug the USB-C end of the included charging cable into Noomi's USB-C charging port.
- Connect the other end to a compatible USB wall charger, and plug that charger into a working power outlet.
- Check Noomi's battery indicators. Press the power button once to check the charge level; use the battery-light guide above.
- When you are ready to use Wi-Fi, disconnect the charging cable if needed and press and hold to turn Noomi on if the hotspot is off. Connecting the charging cable and turning on the hotspot are separate actions.
Cable to charge Noomi: the separate USB-C cable supplied with your rental, connected to Noomi's charging port.
Cables to charge your phone: the three cables built into Noomi — USB-C, Lightning-compatible, and Micro-USB. Connect the matching cable to your phone and press once to start charging.
If Noomi shows no response, check that both cable ends are fully inserted and try another compatible USB charger or working outlet. Allow time for a depleted battery to charge before trying to turn the hotspot on. Contact Noomi if it still does not respond.
Use Noomi as a power bank
To charge your phone, connect the appropriate built-in cable — USB-C, Lightning-compatible, or Micro-USB — and press the power button once to start charging. This uses Noomi's battery, so leave enough charge for Wi-Fi.
To recharge Noomi itself, use the separate USB-C cable supplied with your rental and Noomi's USB-C charging port. See Charge the Noomi hotspot with the included USB-C cable above.
Neither action requires a settings-page login.
Restart (reboot) Noomi — turn it off, then back on
A restart means off → wait 2 minutes → on. It is not a factory reset, and one quick press does not restart the hotspot.
- Turn it off: Press and hold the power button until the hotspot switches off, then release. Make sure Noomi's Wi-Fi has stopped before continuing.
- Wait 2 minutes with the hotspot off.
- Turn it on: Press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds, then release as the startup lights appear.
- Reconnect your phone: Scan the Wi-Fi QR code on the back, or use the SSID and Wi-Fi password on that same back label.
- Give Noomi time to connect. At your destination, allow up to 7 minutes for the first network connection. Do not keep turning it off and on while it is connecting.
For a connection test, temporarily turn off your phone's mobile data while leaving Wi-Fi on, then load a new webpage. Restore your preferred mobile-data setting afterward.
Do not choose Restore to factory defaults. If Noomi does not respond to a normal press-and-hold, connect it to power using the included USB-C charging cable and contact Noomi support rather than trying increasingly long button holds.
Understand the indicator lights
Identify the indicator by its icon. The signal indicator, Wi-Fi indicator, and battery lights show different things.
| Indicator | Appearance | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Signal strength | Green | Good signal |
| Signal strength | Yellow | Moderate signal |
| Signal strength | Steady red | Weak signal |
| Signal strength | Flashing red | Connection/signal problem; follow the basic checks below, then contact Noomi if it continues |
| Wi-Fi | Steady light | Wi-Fi available |
| Wi-Fi | Flashing | Connecting |
| Wi-Fi | Off | Wi-Fi unavailable |
| Battery | Press the power button once to display the level | 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 lights ≈ 25% / 50% / 75% / 100%; see the battery guide above |
A steady Wi-Fi light does not replace an internet test. A flashing red signal light does not, by itself, identify the cause or prove that the device has a hardware fault.
Identify the icon next to the light. If you are unsure which indicator is flashing, send Noomi support a photo or short video. Do not open device settings to identify the light.
Connection help — basic checks first
Use these checks if your phone cannot join Noomi Wi-Fi, you have Wi-Fi but no internet, or the signal light is flashing red. These checks do not require a device-settings login.
- Check power and battery. Press the power button once to see the battery level. Recharge Noomi with the included USB-C cable if needed. If it is off, press and hold for about 3 seconds to turn it on.
- Connect to your own Noomi. Scan the QR code on the back. If scanning does not work, select the SSID and enter the Wi-Fi password printed on that same back label. Make sure your phone is not connected to another Wi-Fi network.
- Check your booking. Your current destination and travel dates should match your rental. Ask Noomi support if you are unsure.
- Try another safe location. Move Noomi near a window or to a location with better reception. Keep it powered and charged.
- Restart once if needed. Follow Restart (reboot) Noomi: press and hold to turn it off, wait 2 minutes, then press and hold to turn it on. Allow time to connect, including up to 7 minutes for the first network connection at your destination. Do not keep restarting while it is connecting.
- Test the connection. Once your phone has joined Noomi Wi-Fi, temporarily turn off your phone's mobile data while leaving Wi-Fi on, then try loading a new webpage. Restore your preferred mobile-data setting afterward.
Still not working? Contact Noomi support before doing anything in the device's settings. Support will review the issue and tell you whether a guided settings check is needed.
Do not open the device login page, change SIM or roaming settings, enter an APN, or factory-reset Noomi on your own. The basic checks above are the self-service steps; device settings are not.
A flashing red signal light indicates a connection problem, but does not identify the cause. Tell support which light is flashing and send a photo or short video if possible.
A Code 7 message appears
Take a screenshot of the complete Code 7 message and contact Noomi support. Do not log in or change device settings on your own.
The message alone does not confirm that your rental has run out of data or identify which connection mode is selected. Noomi support will check your rental service and decide whether a guided device-settings check is needed.
You may use Connection help — basic checks first above, including a normal restart. If support asks you to check SIM selection, roaming, or an APN, follow only the steps they specify in the support-guided section below.
Tell support where the message appeared: a browser page, your phone's Wi-Fi sign-in window, or an app. Send the full message you already see; do not open additional device screens to collect information unless support asks.
Do not purchase an additional plan, change the rental's activation, change SIM selection or roaming, enter an APN, or factory-reset Noomi to clear this message. Contact Noomi support instead.
Still need help? Contact Noomi support first
Email hello@noomi.travel. If you are currently traveling, use a subject such as Traveling now — Noomi connection issue — [order number].
Include your order number, current country and city, travel dates, and when the issue started. Tell us whether your phone joins Noomi's Wi-Fi, which indicator is flashing and its color, and which basic checks you have already tried.
Attach any complete error message you already see. A short video or photo of the indicator lights is helpful when the issue is blinking or intermittent. You do not need to log in to contact support.
Only provide a SIM card management screenshot if Noomi support specifically asks and guides you to that screen. Do not open device settings or collect additional settings screenshots before contacting us.
Noomi support will decide whether the hotspot needs a settings check. If needed, we will guide you through the login and the specific SIM, roaming, or APN steps. We will provide any APN values required for your rental's country and SIM/network operator.
Has Noomi support asked you to open device settings? Use the support-guided troubleshooting section below, following only the steps support requests.
Share identifiers only with Noomi support. Do not post your Wi-Fi password, Wi-Fi QR code, or device identifiers publicly. You do not need to include your Wi-Fi password in the initial support message.
Support-guided troubleshooting — only when Noomi support asks
STOP — use this section only when Noomi support specifically asks and guides you.
This is not part of setting up your rental, joining Wi-Fi, checking the battery, or carrying out the basic connection checks. A red light, no internet, or Code 7 is not a reason to use these settings without support. Contact Noomi first.
Follow only the step your support representative requests. Report the current values before changing anything. Leave all other settings unchanged. If a screen differs from these examples or an instruction is unclear, stop and ask support.
Any APN values must come directly from Noomi support for your specific rental; do not search for or guess them.
With support: open the settings page and log in
Only proceed if Noomi support has asked you to open the hotspot's local settings page during troubleshooting. This page is not needed for everyday use.
- At support's direction, connect to your Noomi Wi-Fi network by scanning the QR code on the back, or using the SSID and Wi-Fi password on that same back label. Stay connected even if your phone says No internet.
- Open your normal browser, such as Safari or Chrome, and type
http://192.168.43.1into the address bar — not a search engine. Enter this address only as part of the support-guided check. - Enter
adminfor the username andadminfor the password. Both are all lowercase and case-sensitive. Remove any spaces and check that your phone has not capitalized the first letter. - Tap Login. The page may be titled Global Portable Wi-Fi. Wait for support's next instruction; do not explore or change other settings.
The settings page is stored on the hotspot. It can normally be opened without working internet when your phone is connected to Noomi's Wi-Fi and the hotspot is responding.
The page will not open or the login is rejected? Tell support what happens. They can guide you through checking your Wi-Fi connection, browser address, or other phone-side settings as needed. Do not factory-reset the hotspot, change credentials, or guess alternate logins.

View the Wi-Fi details only if support asks
For normal connection, use the QR code, Wi-Fi name (SSID), and Wi-Fi password printed on the back of your own Noomi. There is no need to log in to find them.
If support asks you to view the Wi-Fi tab during troubleshooting, it also displays those details. They are different from the administrator login. Dashes or blank information in the upper panel do not, on their own, confirm a plan status or a working connection; tell support what you see.

With support: check SIM 1, roaming, and connection status
Only follow this section while Noomi support is guiding you. Log in only when asked, then open Settings → SIM card management if support directs you there.
Report the current settings first
Tell support what the page shows for Data roaming, In Use, and Status. These are the expected Noomi settings:
| Item | Expected Noomi configuration |
|---|---|
| Data roaming | Checked / on |
| In Use | SIM 1 (Roaming) |
These values are a reference for the support-guided check — not an invitation to change settings yourself. Ask support before changing either value.
The roaming instruction applies to the hotspot, not the roaming setting on your phone's own mobile plan. The word Roaming may appear in red in this interface; that text is expected for this Noomi configuration and is not itself an error.
Change the selected SIM only when support instructs you
- In SIM card management, tap Change only when support asks.
- On SIM card selection, choose SIM 1 (Roaming), then tap Apply as directed.
- Return to SIM card management and report the In Use, Data roaming, and Status values. Support will tell you whether to enable the roaming checkbox or take another action.
Do not choose Cloud SIM or Smart selection for this rental. The supported selection is SIM 1 (Roaming) → Apply, made only with Noomi support's guidance.
If Wi-Fi drops during a support-directed change, reconnect to Noomi and tell support. If SIM 1 is missing, cannot be selected, or will not stay selected, stop and report it. Do not remove the SIM or guess a PIN.

Report the status; do not keep changing settings
If Status says Searching, report that to support. Correct SIM and roaming values alone do not prove that internet access is working.
The screenshot below shows the expected settings, but is still searching. It is a settings example, not a successful-connection example. Follow support's direction for any restart or connection test.

With support: add or update an APN
Do not open or change APN settings unless Noomi support specifically asks and provides the exact values.
An APN is a connection setting used by the SIM's data provider. Noomi support will confirm the correct APN for your rental, taking account of your current country, installed SIM/data provider, and network operator. Support may recommend an APN change to address a connection or performance issue; it is not a general speed adjustment to try yourself.
Use only the APN details Noomi support sends you. Do not use values from a web search, another traveler, another rental, or the sample screenshots. A local operator's name alone is not enough to choose the correct APN.
Add a profile only when support tells you to
Once support has provided the values and asked you to add a profile, open Settings → SIM card management → APN settings → Add. If support instead asks you to update an existing profile, follow their specific instructions rather than adding another one.
| Field on the screen | What to enter, only as directed by Noomi support |
|---|---|
| Name | The profile label supplied by support |
| APN | The exact APN supplied by support |
| Username | The value supplied by support, or leave blank when instructed |
| Password | The value supplied by support, or leave blank when instructed |
| APN authentication type | The option specified by support; do not guess |
| APN Type | The value specified by support, or leave unchanged/blank when instructed |
Read the entries back to support if requested. When support confirms, tap Save, return to the APN list, and select the circular selector beside the supplied profile as directed. Saving a profile and selecting it are separate checks.
Only restart or recheck SIM and roaming settings if support asks. For a guided restart, use Restart (reboot) Noomi above: turn off, wait 2 minutes, then turn on. Support will guide any connection test and confirm what to do next.
Do not copy Plus Internet, internet, Plus MMS, or mms from a sample screenshot. Do not use Reset, delete profiles, or change other settings unless Noomi support specifically directs you.

With support: other device settings
These are support-guided references only. Do not browse these pages or change their controls unless Noomi support specifically asks.
Wi-Fi clients
If support directs you to Wi-Fi clients, the tab lists devices connected to the hotspot. Report what support requests. Do not change an access switch on your own, even if you think you recognize the device. A client count is not proof of working internet.

Data management
Only open Settings → Data management if support asks. This option is designed to limit some automatic app downloads, updates, and cloud-app synchronization. It is not Data roaming and is not the SIM-selection control.
If websites work but an app or the App Store does not, tell support. Do not switch this setting off on your own. Support will decide whether a temporary change is appropriate and guide the test and restoration. Disabling it may allow additional background data use.

Battery protection
To check the remaining battery, press the physical power button once — no login needed. Only open Settings → Battery protection if Noomi support asks. Leave the supplied setting unchanged unless support directs otherwise. This is a battery-care setting, not a self-service fix for a red signal light or Code 7.

Leave all other settings unchanged
Do not factory-reset Noomi, reset APN settings, change administrator credentials, replace the installed SIM, or enter guessed SIM PINs. Only take an advanced action if Noomi support explicitly directs and guides it. An ordinary restart uses the physical power button and is different from a factory reset.
When support has finished, follow any final instructions, close the settings page, and return to normal Wi-Fi use.
