What can happen is the local carrier in a given country slows speeds during peak periods on their own network — that's the carrier's Fair Use policy, not Noomi's. We pick operators who do this least.
Who slows speeds, and who does not?
It's rare, and it is never Noomi. Where speeds do drop it is the local carrier, on their own network, during peak periods — and it is not constant. High-speed access typically resets the next day.
What does it feel like when it happens?
You stay connected. Maps, messaging, ride-hailing, and web browsing are the least affected. 4K streaming is the most likely to buffer — switching to 1080p usually resolves it.
Why does Noomi tell me this?
Burying it would be the brand's first lie. "Unlimited" gets used loosely across travel Wi-Fi, and travelers have learned to assume the worst. We'd rather you book Noomi knowing exactly what to expect than feel misled the first time you notice slower speeds in Osaka.
